The 7th edition of the Port Said international Holy Quran competition was launched on Friday.
The participants compete in the categories of Quran memorization, beautiful recitation, Ibtihal, and Quran memorization for children.
After the end of the first round and evaluations made by members of the panel, 24 contestants were selected to compete in the next stage.
From among them, 12 will make it to the final round, according to the organizers.
Prominent qaris, Quran experts and activists like Sheikh Abdul Fattah al-Taruti, Abdul Karim Salih, Muhammad Fathullah Bibris, and Hisam Saqar are the members of the arbiters’ panel.
